Introduction to Laminated Stitch

Introduction to Laminated Stitch

A contemporary textile workshop which offers the opportunity to produce beautiful and colourful innovative textiles using traditional and non-traditional approaches to decorative stitch combined with the plastic pouch laminator.

The workshop combines process and elements of layered sheer fabrics, hand painted bonda-web, decorative machine stitches trapped between laminated plastic sheets.
Students will be experimenting further with battery powered micro-soldering irons in combination with hand-stitches and embellishments such as beads and sequins, making two unique samples to take forward towards a colourful greetings card and decorative statement brooch.
