Darling Little Dickens by Lydia Nelson for Moda Fabrics is a collection of soft pastel greens, aquas, and beige depicting bears, rabbits, sheep and ducks. This mix of soft green, grey, blue and pink makes a perfect basis for a baby quilt.
This Quilt, by Jackie was inspired by the “Frog Quilt” from a book that we sell, “Baby Bright Quilts”. Five of the “Darling Little Dickens” designs were used along with a pale yellow ‘basic’ which picked out the colouring of the honeypots on the bear fabric A Rabbit template was sourced from the internet and was appliqued on to the white background fabric using bondaweb. During assembly of the quilt, a spray fabric adhesive was used to attach the various layers. It was finished using free machine quilting with a darning foot with some shadow quilting using a walking foot. To finish, a contrasting fabric was chosen for the outer binding which was then formed using a Simplicity tape maker and stitched on.
