Sewing Machine Familiarisation

Description
The Sewing Machine Familiarisation workshop introduces the basics of machine sewing with the aim of building your confidence when working on projects using a Sewing Machine.
On this session you will gain an understanding of the working parts and functions and be comfortable using a machine. You will learn about the uses for different needles, threads and machine feet dependant upon the fabric that you are working with. You will gain a basic understanding of utility and decorative stitches that are relevant to whatever project you are working on.
Level of Experience
The workshop is suitable for anyone with a basic knowledge of needlework, and wants to develop confidence in using a Sewing Machine.
Materials / Equipment required by Attendees
- Materials will be provided
- Your Sewing machine, commissioned with operation manual if available
- A variety of good quality coloured thread
If you do not have a Sewing Machine, or don’t want to bring your own, you can use one of our latest Brother demonstration machines for the nominal fee of £3.00 per session.
